Schedule Prediction: Weeks 1-4

How will the Titans fare during the first 4 weeks of the season?

How will the first four games of 2016 work out for the Titans?

Over a series of four articles, I will discuss my predictions for each game of the 2016 season for the Tennessee Titans.
First, let’s just get the preseason games out of the way. I won’t give any specifics of the games, but I will go ahead and say that we go 2-2 in the preseason. Winning one game on the road, and one game at home.
Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The first regular season game.
Week 1
Current Record: 0-0
Opponent: Minnesota Vikings
Date and Time: 9-11-16 12:00 P.M.
Location: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
Pick: Titans win 30-24
Reasoning:

I picked Tennessee to win this game because the Titans have a good track record in recent years in the first week of the season. Despite having losing records for the past three seasons+, we have won every first game of the season. I also feel that we will match up well against a young quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. Even though we also have a young quarterback, we don’t have a Dick LeBeau led defense coming after our young QB.
Week 2
Current Record: 1-0
Opponent: Detroit Lions
Date and Time: 9-18-16 12:00 P.M.
Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Pick: Titans win 27-21 in overtime
Reasoning:

This was a hard game to pick. The Lions have been a decent team in recent years, but I have to take into account the fact that Calvin Johnson retired this year. The last time the Lions and Titans met, we won in a shootout in OT. I believe this game will have the same result, but without the amount of scoring.
Week 3
Photo: Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports
Current Record: 2-0
Opponent: Oakland Raiders
Date and Time: 9-25-16 12:00 P.M.
Location: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
Pick: …Titans…WIN! 24-20
Reasoning:
I might be the craziest Titans fan out there, but I’m also the boldest. I am predicting that the Titans will go 3-0 for the first time since the 2008 season. We finished that season 13-3. I feel like the Titans and the Raiders are going to be very evenly matched this season, but I suspect that the Titans will have momentum going into this game and it will be enough to carry them through to a win. It also helps that the Titans barely lost to the very same Oakland Raiders with a very bad offensive line. That offensive line has been improved a whole lot this off-season.
Week 4
Photo: USA TODAY Sports
Current Record: 3-0
Opponent: Houston Texans
Date and Time: 10-2-16 12:00 P.M.
Location: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
Pick: T…Texans win 31-28
Reasoning:
I love my Titans, but my love and a 3-0 start is not enough for the Titans to start 4-0. The Texans will not be a great team, and I’m even predicting them to end up third in the division. With all that being said, I think the Titans will end up losing this game in a nail-biter. The Titans will use this loss to fuel their passion for the rest of the season.
Current Record: 3-1
Next Games Up:
@ Miami
Vs. Cleveland
Vs. Indianapolis
Vs. Jacksonville (Prime Time Game)
My predictions for games 5-8 will be up later this week. Also be on the lookout for my FINAL “bold” prediction article will be up tomorrow. I hope you have enjoyed this article. If you have, please leave me a comment here, on the FaceBook Page, or give us a follow!
In the next few hours of anxious anticipation, please remember to Titans Up!!!
